Hello Friends!
We are going on a month living in our new place and I figured it was about time to share. These last few weeks has been a blur of unpacking, furnishing our apartment, starting in a new office, Thomas traveling back and forth to training, and exploring our new town! It has been busy to say the least but I am happy to say we are starting to finally feel like we’re getting settled. The apartment is still a work in progress, but I’m going to do a full apartment tour in a couple weeks once everything is set-up!
I never thought we would be living in the burbs so quickly, but the second we stepped foot in Alpharetta I knew this was where we would call home. It’s a city just north of Atlanta and it honestly feels like a haven after dealing with the traffic and hustle & bustle when we’re working in downtown Atlanta.
We live in the heart of Downtown Alpharetta surrounded by cute restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques. Publix is a 2-minute walk and everything else we could possibly need like Costco and Target is at most a 10-minute drive. You’ve heard me talk so much about our neighborhood in Portland and living right across the street from Trader Joe’s that I knew I wanted to have somewhat of the same feel when we moved to Alpharetta.
Every Saturday there’s a farmer’s market on our street! This weekend we picked up heirloom tomatoes, muscadine grapes, and ate the best piece of cauliflower pizza from Strive Foods while we strolled along the market.
We’ve tried a handful of restaurants in our neighborhood and can’t wait to try the rest. We’ve had brunch as well as happy hour at South Main Kitchen and BBQ at Smokejack. The deviled eggs and bloody mary’s at South Main Kitchen is a must for brunch! We also loved sitting on the patio at Smokejack and having a couple beers, fried pickles, and the bbq brisket!
Other places that I’ve heard are a must-try in Alpharetta are: Lapeer, Crust, Truck & Tap, and several others! Once we get a few more places under our belt I’ll do a food guide!
I’m in trouble with all of the cute boutiques! Perched is only one of the many shops you can find gifts, home goods, clothing, and beauty products! There’s a cool vinyl record shop called comeback vinyl that I can’t wait to go to! I am setting up my little record player in the corner of our apartment, so as soon as I have a rack for our vinyls I’ll go and stock up on some more!

I lived in Atlanta for five years and I loved every minute of it. My alma mater is there so I try to go back as often as I can. I miss it all the time. Alpharetta is such a good place to live. Congratulations on the move I hope you enjoy your time there. There is so much to do ALL of the time!

We love it so far! It’s definitely a cute town and it’s nice to be a little bit outside of the city. I deal with the traffic every day driving to work downtown, so Alpharetta feels like a haven when I get home lol.
