Weekly Crumbs Vol 28

Hellooooo – How was your 4th? Ours was quiet but relaxing – I made watermelon margs, hotdogs and potato salad for lunch, and steaks for dinner. Can’t get much more American than that! Wanted to share some life updates and other crumbs from the week 😊 Happy Sundayyyy!

Life Updates

We’re moving to Florida! St. Augustine! I know…we like to keep you on your toes. We have been in Atlanta almost a year on the dot and we gave it shot but it just doesn’t feel like home. Thomas can fly out of any airport as long as he can get to a hub easily, we want to be closer to family plus near the beach/on the water so ultimately it was the best decision. I’m so excited and feel like a weight has been lifted! The best of all is that I’ll be able to work from home long term and support my companies office here in Atlanta! I know a lot of people are probably sick of working from home right about now, but it has been great for me and I know long term with kiddos it’s what needed to happen. Plus less commuting and more time to work on things I love.

Travel

No trips planned as of yet, we are praying this clears up enough for us to go to Norway for Christmas and we had other trips we were planning on like going back to Portland and a trip to Boston in late summer but we’ll see if that happens with all of this. Are you guys itching with the travel bug but still nervous with everything going on? I feel like that the overall feeling but I know people are ready to be out and about. I’ve been wanderlusting big time so I’ve been working on a post on our long layover in Paris and why you need to do more stopovers in the future to check more off your bucket list!

Food, Cocktails and Other Obsessions

Work from home lunches have been easy-peasy most days. I’m obsessed with boars head cajun turkey that I get at Publix so I’ve been putting that on lettuce wraps with feta cheese and pesto. (FYI you can make pesto out of kale, spinach, arugula, or basil and it great to keep in the fridge – here’s my easy basil pesto recipe)

I made pinch of yum’s cauliflower fried rice for dinner one night last week and added avocado and cilantro. Such a good weeknight meal!

If you’re in Atlanta, check out Buford Highway Farmers Market if you haven’t already done so. It’s incredible! We got fresh ramen, kimchi, tons of fresh seafood like Prawns and stone crab legs, great cheese (my lover Stilton), this awesome duck liver pâté, loads of fresh veggies and the cutest little key limes that I used in these mini key lime pies that I posted for the 4th!

I’ve been making frozen watermelon margaritas for the pool most weekends and they are a game changer. No extra sugar or syrups because of the sweet watermelon. Just three ingredients: Frozen watermelon cubes, tequila, lime juice. THAT’S IT! To make two margs use 3 cups of frozen watermelon cubes, squeeze 4 large limes, and two hefty shots of tequila and blend!

Reading & Watching

I need a new book! I just finished The Secret She Keeps, so suspenseful and has you on your toes the whole time! I actually just saw that it was made into a series on BBC I think. I know what I’m doing today! I have the Shining hanging on my bookshelf that I have never read but I’m waiting until closer to Halloween! What should I read next?! For shows and movies I’ve been binging 13 Reasons Why… I can’t help it. It’s so angsty and angry most of the time but brings up issues that need to be talked about. We watched Patriot Day on Netflix which was also a very heavy movie about the Boston Marathon bombings. Geez I need some happy things to watch wouldn’t you say?!

Products & Things

I’ve started running an ice roller on my face first thing in the morning as I’m waking up and my coffee is brewing and it’s the best! Instantly depuffs my face, tightens and wakes me up! Here’s a similar one.
– You may have seen in my insta story but I’m obsessed with my visor – such a mom move. Here’s the one I got – you know ya want one.
– Since I’m not going to get my nails done anymore except on occasion I’ve been doing at home mani pedi’s and it’s been so relaxing! I got fresh Essie polishes, a buffer + other tools and it’s been a nice way to pamper myself lately while also saving money!
