If you’ve been following along on my blog for a while, then you already know how much I love Trader Joe’s. In Portland we lived across the street from TJ’s and that is definitely something I’ll miss now that we’ve moved to Atlanta. I visited the closest Trader Joe’s over the weekend in Roswell and it made me so happy! They have so many great Fall goodies on-top of all of my essentials I always grab. Since sometimes things are a hit or miss, I wanted to share a tried and true list of what to buy at Trader Joe’s this Fall! I also have a list at the bottom of my essentials that I pick up every time I’m there. Happy shopping!
Fall Essentials
Fall Zucchette Pasta – $1.99
Adorable pumpkin shaped pasta that has the perfect little crevice to hold on to sauce!
Autumnal Harvest Creamy Pasta Sauce – $3.49
I love the addition of pumpkin, butternut, and carrots for sweetness in this sauce! I added this to the Fall Zucchette Pasta and it was a perfect quick meal.
Pumpkin Bisque – $3.99
I am the biggest soup lover of all time, so when I saw this pumpkin bisque I knew I had to try it! I love the subtle hint of cinnamon and nutmeg and the tahini which gives it a nutty flavor!
Organic Canned Pumpkin – $1.99
This time of year I keep several cans of puréed pumpkin on hand for muffins, cookies, pies, and other seasonal goodies!
Pumpkin Spice Pumpkin Seeds – $2.99
I get so snacky during the work day so I always have nuts on or seeds on hand! I love the classic salt roasted pumpkin seeds or this fun Fall pumpkin spice edition.
Maple Ginger Cookie Swirl Ice Cream – $2.99
Who says you have to stop eating ice cream after summer is over?! Crumbled ginger cookie pieces combined with real Vermont maple syrup is live heaven in a bowl.
Vanilla Pumpkin Scented Candle – $3.99
This candle smells like you’ve been baking delicious pumpkin cinnamon rolls in the oven!
Seasonal Staples
Produce
During the Fall months I always have these fruits and veggies stocked at all times
– Squash (I rotate butternut, acorn, and delicata)
– Sweet potatoes (Sweet potato gnocchi or curried quinoa stuffed sweet potatoes are my fave)
– Figs and Fig Butter – Perfect on a cheeseboard paired with blue cheese
– Apples – eaten by itself as a snack or baked in pies
Cheeses
Starting in the Fall and going through to the New year, I always have plenty of good cheese on hand to throw together a cheese board for entertaining! The Cave Aged Blue Cheese, La Délice de Bourgogne triple cream, and the Unexpected Cheddar are my favorites to keep on-hand. Here is a seasonal cheeseboard I put together!
Wine
We buy all of our wine from Trader Joe’s. Many times I will see bottles that I buy at TJ’s for $10 marked up to $20 or more at other grocery stores. During the Fall and holiday season, it’s good to get a plethora of bottles on hand for dinner parties (or when you just want to cozy up with a glass for yourself!) My favorites are the MoonX cabernet or Merlot, the Caretaker Cabernet, and Foggy Veil Syrah Grenache blend.
Other Essentials I ALWAYS have on-hand
Tomato paste in a tube
I love the tube of tomato paste at Trader Joe’s since you’re never wasting anything like you normally do with the small cans of paste. Adding this to a base of a tomato sauce or chili makes for a richer flavor!
Zoug sauce and Hummus
The spicy zoug sauce and the three layer hummus is in our fridge at ALL TIMES.
3 seed beet crackers or Jerk Plantain Chips
These are my favorite chips for dunking in said zoug sauce and hummus.
Organic Açai packets and other frozen fruit
Awesome for smoothie bowls
Tahini
Their jars of Tahini are cheaper than most places, and I put Tahini in recipes weekly!
Grains
TJ’s has really affordable farro, wild rice, and quinoa! I love making quick grain bowls for dinner or meal prep a big pot for the week!
I hope you enjoyed this list of what to buy at Trader Joe’s this Fall! Let me know in the comments if there’s a product you always buy! I’d love to add it to my list!
I remember that scarecrow girl 🍁🎃.
